Onward We Go (Weigh-in)

Good Friday, friends! I’ll keep this one short and sweet since I’m sure we’re all eager to get our weekends going, but just a few things before I get to the deeply humiliating good stuff.

Firstly, thank you all so much for your incredible support through my last few extremely emo, extremely wordy, scarily honest posts. I spoke a lot about how terrifying this process is for me the second time around, but it makes it so much easier knowing how awesome my readers are, so thank you for that.

Thirdly, I wanted to share with you the most recent addition to my healthy journey toolbag:

I got a Fitbit Flex! I had a Nike+ Fit that my brother got for me a couple of years ago, but I stopped using it for a long time (clearly) and when I tried to boot it back up, it didn’t seem like it was reading accurately anymore. Plus, it doesn’t track as much stuff as the Flex. So after a little bit of comparison between the Fitbit Flex and the Jawbone UP (it was a close call!), I decided on this slick-looking do-dad. So far I really love the My Fitness Pal integration and the sleep tracking, and as I get more accustomed to wearing it I’ll be sure to come back with a more robust review!

Okie doke, well, I guess there’s nothing else left except for You-Know-What.

Last Weigh-in: 233.4
This Weigh-in: 231.0 lbs
Difference: -2.4 lbs

Another decent loss that I’m pretty happy about. I mean, not like, happy-happy, since I’m not thrilled about my weight in general right now, but at least I’m still headed in the right direction. Onward, downward, and all that jazz. And tonight, Sean is taking me out to dinner for our 2-year anniversary, so here’s hoping I don’t undo all of this in one fell swoop!

  2. Yay for the loss! Be happy that you lost something! :) And enjoy your anniversary meal, you’re not going to undo it with one meal..enjoy it!!

  3. YESS! That’s an awesome number for the week!! You’re killing it!!
    Also, I got a fitbit flex for Christmas this year, and I am LOVING it. I love the sleep tracking too, and it’s helped me see some areas where I am lacking in physical activity (going for a 30 minute run does not make up for sitting on the couch the rest of the day, and now I have evidence in the form of numbers.) I hope you find it as helpful as I do!

  4. I’ve ordered a fitbit force and cannot wait for it to come! I also debated between jawbone for a long while. But the silent alarm kept pulling me into fitbit.

  5. Congrats on the new weight loss so far!

    I also got a fitbit flex a week ago. It arrived Friday afternoon, so I got to see my movement over the weekend first – I still spend a lot of time on the couch, but I was doing some deep cleaning to prep for an upcoming party, so I was actually moving around quite a bit! Then the week started, and I’m sitting at my desk all day… yeah, it’s kind of sad. But definitely worthwhile information to have. The sleep tracking is also cool!

  6. I know it is a difficult time going through the weight-loss process again–I think it’s my umpteenth time myself. I kickstarted losing weight all over again a few weeks ago, and I just wanted to say how enjoyable it has been to see you back on your blog and discussing issues I’m VERY familiar with. I’ve followed your blog for several years now, and while it sucks to restart something, there are a number of us (errr…at least me) “here” (on the interwebs) that are totally here to support you. I know it’s cheesy to say “Celebrate those 2.4 pounds!” but it’s true. It’s 2.4 pounds less than you’re carrying around, and 2.4 pounds less that you have to lose. You go girl!

  7. That is awesome!!! Great work, keep it up! It seems like it is coming off at a sustainable rate, so even if you are not wowed by the numbers, it seems like it is just a matter of time til you get there. Yay!

  10. I feel like I’ve been lurking your blog for years, though I rarely comment. I just wanted to let you know that I’m cheering you on! I have a long ways to go myself, but I know we’ll get there. :)

    Excited to hear what you think about the flex. I’ve owned just about every fit gadget out there, and I’m SO LUSTING for a Polar Loop right now. I’ve heard awesome thing about a lot of these new wrist models from Fitbit and the others!
