7 Straight Days of Posting ( Daily Eats 6/11/11)

When has this ever happened!?! I’ve actually posted BOTH days this weekend. I think this is the first time that has ever happened. I have to be honest, this post is mostly for housekeeping purposes, since I didn’t get to post yesterday’s eats uh… yesterday, haha. I was too busy making amazing sushi with my family to post yesterday! And I offer no apologies for it! But I’m just so proud that I’m cranking out a post every day this week that this particular DE post is making it to the homepage. 🙂 I’ll try to keep it short & sweet though, since I know you’re probably all anxious to get back to your lazy Sundays.

Breakfast/Lunch

Subway turkey, bacon, & avocado (!!) 6-inch sub on whole wheat

Baked lays + sodie (heehee)

Super out of focus lime popsicle, haha.

Yeah, breakfast and lunch got combined into one meal because I didn’t wake up until 11 AM yesterday. IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

Snack

15 Kashi crackers (that’s 1 serving! Holler!)
Laughing Cow blue cheese wedge
Laughing Cow queso fresco & chipotle cheese wedge

Dinner

Homemade sushi, duh!

Dessert

Edy’s espresso chip ice cream!

And I took the puppers on not one, but TWO walks today, so I got my 20 minutes in fo’ sho’. And on a Saturday no less!

Okay, real quick before I wrap up I have to clue you in on this awesome giveaway that my friend Bailey is doing on her blog. She’s a graphic designer who is currently helping me design a logo and new header (so say goodbye to dog food being the first representative image of HISTG, hahaha) and is offering a complete blog design package (a $250 value!) if you head over there. If you’re not a blogger, she’s also offering a small business design package instead. Doooo it!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, everyone. There’s a mini Powell Family reunion happening in Falls Church this week, hehe, so tonight the fam is kicking it off with dinner at the Peking Gourmet Inn! I can’t waaaaaaait!! Update on that tomorrow, peace out for now!

  1. How was the Subway avocado? My husband said he thought it was for a limited time only. I hope not. Subway just needs to add hummus to their menu and I’d be a happy girl.

    • I think that it’s in trial-mode right now, so it is marked “for a limited time” and “in participating locations” only. But I really enjoyed it, and I think that it gives you a lot more options especially if you are a vegetarian (since so many of the veggies at Subway are just throwaway, space-filling veggies.) And for me, avocado + bacon = best flavor combo EVER. Hopefully they keep it!

  2. Yeah I was wondering the same thing! The commercials make it look more like kryptonite guac than regular avocado, but things on tv never look like they do in real life anyways. Btw, your dinner from yesterday looks so good – making sushi is definitely going on my summer bucket list!

    • Yeah, it looked pretty normal to me, at least! They have it all mashed up and scoop it out, then spread it on your sub. And YES you must make sushi. I didn’t know what I was missing in not making it myself ever before!

  3. you are doing awesome with your daily eats post! much inspiration 🙂

    • It definitely tasted real! It was JUST avocado though – no flavoring or anything like that. A very good addition to the sammy though!

  4. I actually made an “mmm” noise at the sushi. I haven’t had sushi since I got to Asheville because there are a few places & I’m not sure which ones are good yet. These decisions take time haha!

  5. How do you like the new LC cheese flavors? What’s your favorite? I haven’t tried the new ones yet.

    • They’re awesome! I haven’t tried the tomato and basil one, but I loveloveLOVE the blue cheeeeese!

  6. LOVE those laughing cow cheese wedges! And avocado makes EVERYTHING better, even Subway. 🙂
