Daily Eats – 5/23/11

Slice of Ezekial Raisin Bread (80 cal) w/1 tbsp Justin’s Hazelnut butter (95 cal) – x2 (350 cal)

Banana (90 cal)

Caprese Pasta Bake (~350 cal)

Popchips (100 cal)

1/2 banana nut muffin (~150 cal?)

Larabar (200 cal)

– 2/3rds of a cheese and tomato quesadilla (~250 cal)
– 2/3rds caprese salad — I’m hooked on this flavor combo, what can I say? (~150 cal?)
– Fried egg (70 cal)

Peanut butter gluten balls (150 cal)

Total: 1,860 calories

So, not the greatest day calorically, but not a complete carwreck either. I should probably have gone without the banana nut muffin but they were leftover at work and I couldn’t just THROW it away, could I? 😉 Anyway, tomorrow’s another day. Lovelove until then!

  1. Your eats look sooo goood especially at this hour. Now I just want to sleep so I can wake up and have breakfast.

So what are your goals with the calories? Are you trying to lose more or maintain?

When you switch from trying to lose weight to maintenance MAN it’s so weird! You feel like you’re eating EVERYTHING IN SIGHT.

    • Thanks! Yeah I’m still trying to lose at this point. Today was more than I’d say I’d like to be eating right now (I’m trying to aim for around 1500 still) but eh, everyone flexes a little on any given day, right? I’m sure that when I do switch out of “losing mode” though my issue will be trying NOT to eat everything in sight! Haha.

      • 🙂 Well, from my what I’ve seen, if you’re eating 1800 calories a day is plenty low enough to drop weight unless you are just TIIINNNYY. But everyone is different 🙂

Going to maintenance mode is a bit freaky!

        • Yeah, I did a recalculation of my BMR now that I’ve lost some weight already and it’s a little over 1700. So I can definitely get away with 1800 f’sho’, I just wanna make sure I’m still getting a big enough deficit to continue losing. But hey, slow & steady and all that jazz, right? 🙂

  2. Great to meet you this weekend! And I think that calorie count is totally acceptable – especially if you are being active at all. It’s better to just cut a bit at a time long term 🙂

    • GIRRRRRRRRRL. I loved getting to meet you!! And yeah, I’m definitely not upset with that calorie count by any means, I just am impatient. Fewer calories = faster weight loss, right? RIGHT?!?! Hahahaha.

  3. What are peanut butter gluten balls? They look like big pasta shells! 🙂

    • I get them at the Asian grocery store. They’re basically little stuffed rice gluten “shells” filled with peanut butter. They come frozen, and then you boil ’em up in water. They’re a little weird, but I like ’em! You can also get them filled with sesame or red bean paste.

    • Haaaaahahahahahaha! I can see how you might think that… Mmm, raw scallops for dessert… haha

  4. I’m a caprese lover, too. But I refuse to eat any until local tomatoes are coming off. I tried to have a caprese salad with a grocery store tomato in the middle of the winter and it was just wrong. WRONG, I SAY! 😛

Side note, check out this recipe for baked panzanella caprese, it’s a good one.

    • MMMM! That looks amazing. And I know what you mean about grocery store tomatoes. It wasn’t quite as satisfying as it could have been… but that tomato last night deserved to be eaten! I mean, it had never done anything wrong, right? 😀
