Rock Lobstah!

Guess where my family went to dinner tonight!

Congratulations! You guessed right. 🙂

My uncle, aunt, cousin, and their Chow are visiting my parents so the whole gang went to Red Lobster for dins (after the requisite photoshoot, of course!)

Started things off with a garden salad and a cheddar bay biscuit:

I contemplated for like half a second not having any biscuits, but then quickly decided that it was totally worth the 150 calories. Plus, I picked the smallest one out of the basket so, we’ll call it 120. Hooray for justification!

I tried to be conservative and ordered the only thing that didn’t have “fried,” “cream” or “butter” listed in the description. Of course, that didn’t stop parts of it from being bathed in butter anyway, but whatchagonnado. I got the Broiled Seafood Platter:

It was shrimp, scallops, and stuffed flounder with a side o’ broccoli. I ended up not eating much of the crab stuffing inside the fish cause I wasn’t a huge fan, but otherwise it was all supah tasty! I did honestly try to wipe off all the butter from around the shrimp & scallops but some battles you’re just meant to lose. I may or may not have ended up having another teeny tiny biscuit afterward… I can’t help it. Red Lobster’s biscuits are AMAZING! Search your mind, you know it to be true…

Let’s recap the rest of the day’s libations:

Breakfast: Quaker Hearty Medleys Cranberry Almond Oatmeal (130 cals)

Mid-morning snack: celery sticks w/2 tbsp hummus (~50 cals)

Lunch: small portion of veggie pasta and leftover salmon from Maggiano’s — it’s been a seafoody day! (~350 cals)

Mid-afternoon snack: 1/2 cup of Breyer’s vanilla ice cream and small cupcake from coworker’s office birthday party (~200, 250 calories)

So, I think I did pretty well today, all things considered! I’m starting to realize more and more that we eat a lot in my office. This probably isn’t a good thing, hahaha. Anyway, tomorrow is Friday for me! Thank goodness for short weeks – no joke. Hopefully I make it through tomorrow peacefully and with an improving throat.
