Awesome news! Today after getting out of a work a little early –hooray holiday weekend!– I went to see Piranha 3D (which was yes, super entertaining but yes, super gross. Also, super boobalicious) with Ben and Taylor.

Whilst on the way to the theatre, Tay mentioned that my pants looked loose and that it looked like I had lost some weight. Success! I guess I’m finally getting a point where it’s starting to be at least a smidgen noticeable! So that would be victory in and of itself. But after she said that I started to really notice that my jeans were feeling quite loose, and in fact I had been constantly pulling them up all day.

I know that it’s a crumtacular picture, including part of my thumb in the bottom corner, but hopefully you can kind of tell. I was suffering from serious baggy-butt-syndrome and I could pull them down without undoing the button. So I figured, what the heck, I’m going to try on an old pair of my jeans, 1 size down.

Hallelujah! They fit! So as of today, I am officially back to a size 16. Goodbye, forever, 18s!! It really is encouraging to see and feel my body changing. I mean, I know that I’ve been losing some weight, and the numbers on the scale have been going down, but I honestly haven’t really been feeling like there’s been much of a difference until now. What a great way to start the weekend! I might keep these pairs of pants around for a little while just to wear around the house when I’m feeling fat I want to be comfortable, but hopefully in a couple more weeks I’ll be another size down and these will be on their way to Goodwill! Plus-sized clothing, you are officially on your way out of my life. Good riddance!

  1. Super!! Get rid of the old ones!!!

  2. Gretchen! You look so good! Keep up all the good work!

  3. Yay! A size down, that’s so exciting! I have also noticed how my jeans fit a little better which I am elated about because I would have hated having to go up a size (I’m a size 16 right now).
