Don’t judge me.

I know, I know, I know. I have been shamefully absent on the blogging front lately. I want to pull out some excuses about my schedule being crazy, being exhausted and preoccupied, blah blah blah but while those things may be true, I’ve really just been lazy. Not really what I should be considering my new lifestyle initiative, but hey – baby steps, people.

So the weekend was pretty baller. Kings Dominion was really fun, although I definitely don’t have the stamina that I used to. A couple of roller coasters and water slides and I was ready to call it a day! The Intimidator 305, by the way? Uhhhhmazing! It is so crazy fast that my brother said he started to black out a tiny bit. I wouldn’t know if my vision was affected since my eyes were closed for part of it, but it was still seriously cool. Still has to contend with the AWESOME Hulk coaster at Universal Studios for my favorite roller coaster, but it’s definitely up there.

So of course, the challenging thing about going to an amusement park is that they really only serve amusement park food (and at outrageously expensive prices!) Luckily, they have few Subway stands dotted around the park, so I managed to grab a 6-inch turkey on wheat and loaded it up with veggies. Under 300 calories and absolutely delicious, even if it did cost more than an entire footlong on the “outside” haha.

Sunday was a nice, lazy day with Steve and the puppies. I have been consuming on the higher end of the caloric spectrum over the past few days (1600 – 1800), so I think I need to kick back into gear and really focus on not going over that 1500 mark. After all, I know that a pound lost is a pound lost, but 1 lb a week is still not super encouraging progress to me given my current size. And I know that loss tends to slow down as you lose more, so I don’t want it to slow down after only 3 weeks! I reeeeeally want to say “Goodbye forever!” to the 230s by Monday’s weigh-in. I feel like that would just make me feel awesome. 🙂 Reema and I are going to Zumba on Wednesday again (the class at my local rec center doesn’t start until the 14th) so I’m looking forward to getting some high impact cardio in this week. I also get to order some new workout clothes thanks to my awesome sister (although I don’t want to get too much new stuff now in anticipation of the fact that hopefully it won’t fit too long after getting it!

Alright, I think that I might have to wrap this up for the time being, so I’ll just leave you with the haunting thought of how exhausted I am this morning: had to call in reinforcements at 7 AM.

  1. I was super proud of you at the amusement park and then later on when we went to Outback. You exercised some great restraint! Think about it- even IF you only lose 1 lb. a week that would be 52 lbs. a year which is crazy awesome.
