Drumroll please…

Weigh-in Monday! I weighed myself bright and early this morning, but had to be at work bright & early too, so I haven’t had time to blog until now. So, without further adieu…

235 pounds! That’s an 11 pound loss!! Isn’t that ridiculous?!? Now, don’t get me wrong, I do know that a lot of the weight that I lost was from water weight, and I definitely do not have the expectations to lose this much each week as time goes on. But still! It’s certainly encouraging. Hopefully things will just keep going up (er, down!) from here!

In other news, had to battle my resolve again today due to new hire orientation at work. There was a spread of muffins, bagels, and candy galore! I managed to confine myself to a banana and half a bran muffin. I figured that given the options I did excellently. 🙂 Didn’t make it to the gym today because I forgot my sneakers (I know, I know…) But I will definitely be going tomorrow, and I’ll be joining my friend Reema on Wednesday for a Zumba class. Anybody ever done one? I heard it’s a kind of dancy fitness workout? Let me know what to expect!


  1. YAY!! Congratulations. It’s nice to see your calorie tracking work pay off! It definitely helps keep you motivated when you see numbers like that- but glad you’re realistic to know it won’t always be such drastic drops!
    Good job on resisting the breakfast spread- I am such a sucker for bagels.

  2. Yeah, much of that first ‘rush’ is water and just emptying your stomach. But it is a GREAT start! Excellent self discipline in the face of temptations!! Keep up the fantastic work!!

  6. yay for you! You know what I like to bring to work? a bag of frozen broccoli (the kind you steam in the microwave) and a little thing of goat cheese and a bag of wheat thins/crackers/half a bagel. its like four servings of veggies and the goat cheese makes it fantastic, so the calorie content is low and the tastiness and filling-ness is up there.

  7. @Karen: I try to stick around 1500 a day. Obviously it fluctuates, but that’s the goal, anyhow!
